The complex [RhH(CO)2(15)] was detected as a single isomer with characteristic features of eq-eq coordination. However, the broadening of the corresponding signals indicated that this species is rapidly interchanging in solution. In contrast, complex [RhH(CO) 2(17)] was detected as a mixture of two conformational isomers at low temperature due to the greater flexibility of the monocyclic backbone of this ligand.

In RFT samples, aldehydes and ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, esters, and S-containing compounds were significantly increased. Sulfur-containing compounds were increased by 687 fold compared to control samples (P<0.05). Among these, the main contributors to the aroma activity of RFT samples were considered to be, with a very low threshold, the newly generated compounds, dimethyl disulfide (roasted onion/garlic-like/meaty odor), dimethyl trisulfide (roasted garlic-like/meaty odor), and methional (roasted potato/potato chip-like odor). We report a combined experimental and quantum chemistry study of the initial reactions in low-temperature oxidation of tetrahydrofuran (THF). Using synchrotron-based time-resolved VUV photoionization mass spectrometry, we probe numerous transient intermediates and products at P = 10-2000 Torr and T = 400-700 K. A key reaction sequence, revealed by our experiments, is the conversion of THF-yl peroxy to hydroperoxy-THF-yl radicals (QOOH), followed by a second O2 addition and subsequent decomposition to dihydrofuranyl hydroperoxide + HO2 or to gamma-butyrolactone hydroperoxide + OH. The competition between these two pathways affects the degree of radical chain-branching and is likely of central importance in modeling the autoignition of THF. We interpret our data with the aid of quantum chemical calculations of the THF-yl + O2 and QOOH + O2 potential energy surfaces. On the basis of our results, we propose a simplified THF oxidation mechanism below 700 K, which involves the competition among unimolecular decomposition and oxidation pathways of QOOH.

Osmotic distillation technique was used for the total dealcoholization of a red wine (Aglianico grape variety) up to 0.19 vol.%. The dealcoholization process was performed in subsequent cycles which gave rise wine samples at different alcoholic degrees. The effect of processing on the main chemical and physical properties of Aglianico wine was evaluated. Among wine samples, no significant differences (p < 0.05) of oenological parameters such as pH, total acidity were found. Similarly, the total phenolic, flavonoids and tartaric esters content and the composition of organic acids did not show significant differences (p < 0.05) during the process. On the contrary, colour intensity and tonality of wine samples changed significantly when the alcohol reduction was over the 6.5 vol.%. Finally, the total dealcoholized wine showed properties similar to Aglianico wine except for the volatile compounds, which decreased over 98%.
