3-Chloroaniline (10.6 ml) and 2,5-dimethoxytetrahydrofuran (12.9 ml) are heated at 1 100C in acetic acid (100 ml) for 5 hours and 30 minutes. To the cooled reaction mixture, water (500 ml) is added and the reaction is stirred overnight.
