Compound 101 (S)-tetrahydrofuran-3 -amine hydrochloride (5.17 g, 42 mmol) and NaOH (5 g, 126 mmol) were dissolved in THF (50 mL) and H20 (50 mL). 5-(chlorosulfonyl)-2- fluorobenzoic acid (10 g, 42 mmol) was added at 0C. The mixture was stirred at 20C for 4 hours. The mixture was washed with ethyl acetate (3 x 20 mL). The aqueous layer was separated and adjusted to pH=3 with IN HC1. The aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate (3 x 50 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with brine and dried over Na2S04. The solvent was removed in vacuo resulting in (S)-2-fluoro-5- (N-(tetrahydrofuran-3-yl)sulfamoyl)benzoic acid (2.1 g) . (S)-2-fluoro-5-(N-(tetra- hydrofuran-3-yl)sulfamoyl)benzoic acid (1 g, 3.457 mmol), 3,4-difluoroaniline (0.53 g, 4.15 mmol) and triethylamine (0.7 g, 6.9 mmol) were dissolved in DMF (400 mL) and HATU (1.57 g , 4.15 mmol) was added at 0C. The mixture was next stirred at 20C for 6 hours. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the obtained residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (eluent: petroleum ether: ethyl acetate=5 : l) resulting in compound 101 (0.8 g).
