To the saturated Na2S03 aqueous solution (10 mL) was added 3-(bromomethyl)tetrahydrofuran (1.00 g, 6.06 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated to refluxand stirred for 24 h and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was stirred with EtOH (20 mL) at50 oc for 30 min, and then filtered immediately.
